It is technically the final day of spring- the exact eve of the summer solstice! Come walk the land with us to explore how a regenerative ecosystem prepares for the heat ahead. This is your chance to see natural practices in action, get a look at some unique “open-loop” setups, and swap ideas with fellow local growers.
During the 8-10 AM Tour, we’ll look at:
*Rewilding the Garden: Watching cultivated plants adapt, naturalize, and thrive on their own terms.
*Watering Methods in Action: Demystifying irrigation. We will look at standard setups alongside gravity-fed and pressure regulated Blumat systems to see how plant-driven watering works.
*Aquaponics & Nitrogen Cycling: Touring the active aquaponic system. We will talk about how nutrients cycle through the land (including why we “pee in the pines, not the lettuce”).
*Living Soil Horizons: How we biomimic natural soil layering in a managed environment using red wiggler worm populations and chop-n-drop techniques.
During the 10 AM-Noon Talk & Q&A, we’ll gather in the shade to discuss:
*Dry Farming & Seed Saving: Breeding local resilience by selecting for heat and drought tolerance.
*Working with the Heat: Low-input ways to maximize moisture and support abunance through the peak summer months.
*Open Floor: Bring your specific growing challenges, local observations, and design questions!
Whether you’re curious about regenerative homesteading or simply love being in community with the land, this is a space to listen, learn, and see what’s possible when we work with nature’s cycles.
All are welcome.
